Christmas, what's it all about?
Christmas has become a time when we celebrate the "holidays", we close a year and in a tangible way say I love you to those around us. We buy gifts for family and friends, co-workers and sometimes for people we don't even care for. We charge our cards to the max and the words "Merry Christmas" flow like water. But what exactly are we celebrating.
Christmas, in its truest form, is a celebration of God's love for His creation. It is a day on the calendar to mark a day, which we really don't know, the birthday of the Christ, the Messiah, and the Son of God whose name is Yeshua or pronounced Jesus.
The Biblical account of the matter is this. God created man and man separated himself from God through his rebellious act (sin). But God, in his infinite mercy chose to provide a path to forgiveness through His very own Son. The arrival of God's Son, the Messiah was as an infant and it is this miraculous event we celebrate today.
The wonder of Christmas is the Love of God expressed in the miraculous birth of the infant Jesus approximately 2000 years ago. The miracle of Christmas is that God's forgiveness can be yours simply by asking Him for it. The hope of Christmas is the return of Jehovah Yeshua (Jesus) to establish peace forevermore. If you would like to have a relationship with God then the steps are simple. Acknowledge to God that you are separated from Him because of your sin and rebellion, ask Him to forgive you through the blood of His Son Jesus and take joy in your new relationship with the Creator of the Universe and all that is in it.
A simple prayer to ask forgiveness:
God, I am a sinner and I know that there is no way that I can earn your forgiveness. I ask you for your forgiveness through the blood of your son, Jesus.
It really is as simple as that but that is just the beginning. If you have prayed and asked God for forgiveness or want more information before you do then please write to us and as for more information about Jesus and we will send it at once. We promise that your request will be kept confidential and that no one with call you or send you a bunch of stuff you don't want.
