Buying flowers for men used to be taboo but times have changed. Many of today's men love to give and receive flowers. According to a behavioral study conducted by a leading university it was concluded that men who receive flowers were more likely to open up emotionally and be more socially interactive.

Florist have long known that men like flowers. It is obvious when they stand in our stores looking for just the right bouquet or the perfect rose arrangement that men enjoy giving flowers. Sure, most men are not as esthetically oriented as women but that does not mean they don't like flowers but that they simply have not found a way to express what they do or do not like. Flowers will help in this area, men who recieve flowers or have them around the house are more communicative in every area of their lives. So ladies, if you desire more and better communication, pick a rose or two and give to your man. Society held to a machizmo attitude that precluded the average man from admitting that he liked getting flowers too. The ninties saw the emergence of a new era where men often received flowers and often admitted they liked them.

Men typically like brighter colors and mixtures of flowers and sometimes need to be directed when purchasing for a woman. Women typically enjoy softer color schemes while men may prefer direct comliments such as red and yellow. Of course these are generalizations but I have found them to be accurate more often than not.

According to the university research, the men who received flowers demonstrated better eye contact, stood in closer proximaty to others and produced more smiles than the men who did not.
