Treat your guest special

Welcome the guest staying in your home with a small vase of flowers and a few pieces of fruit and even a cookie or two in a decorative tin.  Use a small serving tray, large platter or other suitable "dresser topper" to provide a small snack for your guests. Be certain to provide suitable utensils for the provisions you are making available. If using plastic ware you can make it more special by tying the utensils together with a piece of ribbon. For the extra gracious host- make certain to provide an iced container of a few beverages and/or a small coffee maker or thermos of hot water and assorted tea bags and cocoa mix. A chapter book of short stories or magazines chosen with your guest in mind will make them feel especially comfortable in your home. Guest are often reluctant to "hit the refrigerator" for a late night snack.
